I didn't know that Van had passed away. I ran cross country and track with him at Shorecrest. He was a good runner. I also lived in Brier in the '90s and I would occasionally see him at a store or park. Really surprising, shocking, that he is not still within us. RIP Van. You are missed.

I am not certain of the details, but I heard that Van died of a heart attack while doing electrical work at the home of Bill and Melinda Gates.
